Officials of Puma Energy are pledging continued support towards initiatives by the Association of Environmental Journalists-AEJ.
Puma Energy has since donated One Million Kwacha towards the Annual General Meeting of AEJ set for this week, from the 11th to 13th April at Victoria hotel in Blantyre.
The event will comprise training sessions for AEJ members, presentation of Green Media Awards on Friday night and a Sustainable Development Goals-SDG walk on Saturday.
Speaking during the presentation of the financial donation on Friday in Blantyre, Puma Energy Retail Operations Manager Mtonthozeni Kachitsa commended AEJ for championing environmental reporting in the country.
“Puma Energy will continue supporting initiatives aimed at conserving the environment and AEJ is doing a commendable work through coverage of environmental issues” said Kachitsa.
AEJ Board Member Moses Michael Phiri hailed Puma Energy for the support.
Phiri said “We appreciate the partnership we have with Puma Energy which has been supporting us in various initiatives including the tree planting exercise”.
He added that the financial support will help AEJ to meet logistical requirements for the AGM which attracts members from across the country.
