Why Green Media Awards?
The motivation is to promote and sustain media coverage on the environment in Malawi and accelerate the agenda for sustainable utilization of Malawi’s natural resources.

  Eligibility
All journalists practising in Malawi are eligible to apply, however, AEJ members will have an added advantage. Each Journalist is eligible to submit a minimum of two stories per category for a maximum of three categories.

  Language
The jury will entertain materials in English and Chichewa only.

GREEN MEDIA AWARDS 2021

After a year interruption caused by Covid 19 pandemic, The Association of Environmental Journalists (AEJ) announces the call for entries for the 2021 Green Media Awards - GMA. The awards are designed to stimulate progressive and creative environmental journalism that inspires the present and future societal needs. The award ceremony will involve senior government officials, heads of diplomatic missions, international NGOs, private sector gurus, civil society representatives and academia among others.

Key Objectives

Greener Stronger Together is the official theme for 2021 GMA which seeks to encourage all Malawians and the media fraternity to stay vigilant in cultivating stronger and greener partnerships for the preservation and protection of our natural resources
