LILONGWE, Malawi, August 09, 2021 (AEJ) - Malawi's Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs Luckie Sikwese has today assumed Chairpersonship of the regional economic bloc Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) standing committee of senior officials. This follow’s Malawi taking over the leadership of the 16 member countries grouping from Mozambique.
Sikwese has succeeded Carlos Manuel Dacosta, from Mozambique who was the Director of Regional Intergration. Malawi is hosting the 41st SADC Summit from 9th – 18th August, 2021 in Lilongwe the capital, with over 400 delegates expected to attend physically and virtually.
