Green Media Awards are annual awards that recognizes outstanding works and contributions by media practitioners in advancing environmental reporting and coverage in Malawi. Journalists and media houses which are members of the association compete for the awards by submitting entries in different categories that prequalifies them winning trophies, cash prizes and assorted gifts that are presented at a glamorous gala night within the hosting of the association’s annual general meeting

The Green Media Award is basically aimed at motivating local journalist and media houses promote and sustain coverage on climate change and environmental issues in Malawi thus accelerating the agenda for sustainable utilization of Malawi’s natural resources.

All journalists operating in Malawi are eligible to enter for the awards through submission of a minimum of two stories per category. A single journalist is allowed to submit entries for a maximum of three categories.
